Project description

To create a better user experience for users in the new service for the Sales Order page. The scope of the project was to re-design the interface and improve the usability. The page holds many complex features and a lot of information.

Role and responsibilities

In this project I was the lead UX designer and I worked closley together with an cross functional team. I also had continous feeback sessions with internal stakeholders and partners.

Work process

The project started with a user research where both end users and internal users were interviewed and shown prototypes. Internal users are typically persons working within support/customer success or partners. The partners have close contact with the end users and know a lot about their pains and needs.
During the research I collaborated with a UX researcher and another designer. Together we iterated and tested the design and presented our findings to internal stakeholders.
In June 2023 we released a MVP (minimum viable product) version of the design. I also introduced the possibility to give anonymous feedback and/or become part of our user panel.

Tools used

Adobe XD and Figma for designing

Challenges

This project required some basic domain knowledge to better understand the users and their needs. This meant the need of discussions or involvement of a business analyst during the research phase.
Another big challenge was the different usage depending on company size and what type of products they sell.
The Sales Order screen contains a lot of information and features, where users want to see as much of it as possible. It was a challenge keeping the design simple without cluttering the screen.
